TOWER OF LONDON RUN 2016 - 10K

My second time partaking in the Tower of London Run, a 1k loop of the Tower of London moat in aid of the British Heart Foundation. A notable difference was the fact they had someone brief the runners as they gathered at the start line. You could still turn up any time between 16:30 and 19:00 but having a group count down made it feel more complete as an event.

The other thing that was difference this year was the fact it wasn't raining and there was no wind which meant there were a lot more people on course, which was better for the atmosphere. Because people were all starting at different times on this looped course it meant some people were hammering it for their home run while I was beginning to realise what was required of my legs to do. It was slightly disheartening having so many people overtake me so earlier on. Later on my final lap I must have returned the disfavour to the other people just starting their race too!

I lost count and did an extra lap, which actually turned out to be my 10th lap. The GPS clocked 9.5k, but it was consistant to last year's measurement. Happy to say I knocked off 4 minutes from 2015.

10k result:
00:47:57.

For £13 you get a tshirt, medal and a nice looped spongey grass event where you can run as much as little as you want to a live DJ. Bargain.
